| 内容記述 | 本論文（2）では、創世記からレビ記までを今あるテキストの順序に従って観察することを通し、旧約のイスラエルの民に求められていた資質を、族長ヤコブのもつ資質との関連において論じた。シナイ契約の冒頭部分である出エジプト記19章5―6節では、主への従順の結果として、民は将来的に「わたしの宝」「祭司の王国」「聖なる国民」となることが約束されている。契約締結時には民の罪の問題は未解決であるが、律法への従順によって解決され、それらの聖なる地位が与えられる、と理解することができる。続く出エジプト記20章からレビ記27章における律法の諸規定のうち、とりわけレビ記では、民に「聖」の高い基準が要求されるとともに、民のたましいは自己中心的で頑なであることが諸規定に反映されている。26章では、諸規定とのろいは、民のたましいを砕きへりくだらせるためであることが暗示されている。それこそ律法の目的であり、レビ記が目指した「聖」の状態と言える。その時、神がまずヤコブとの契約が思い起こされることから（レビ26:42）、ヤコブの至った状態との関連性が想定された。最後に、ヤコブがたどった自己変革のプロセスと、イスラエルの民がシナイ契約と律法を通してたどることが想定されているプロセスとの関連性を論じた。両者とも、神との契約関係に入れられたのち、自らの内面が多方面から取り扱われている。ヤコブは人生の苦難を通して、イスラエルの民は律法を通して、それぞれ自己中心性が砕かれていく。そのプロセスを経て生まれる、砕かれたたましいこそ、神が求めている資質である。これは律法の目的であり、「聖」の資質と重なる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper discusses the attributes required of the Israelites in the Old Testament in relation to the attributes possessed by the patriarch Jacob through reading Genesis to Leviticus according to the order of the present text. In Exodus 19:5–6, the prologue to the Sinai Covenant, the people are promised that they will become “my treasured possession,” “a priestly kingdom,” and “a holy nation” in the future as a result of their obedience to the Lord. It can be taken to mean that the people’s problem of sin, which is unresolved at the time of concluding the covenant, will be resolved through obedience to the law and they will be given these holy positions. In the various regulations in Exodus 20 through Leviticus 27, especially in Leviticus, the various regulations reflect both the high standard of “holiness” demanded of the people and the fact that the people’s souls are self-centered and stubborn. In Leviticus 26 it is implied that the aim of the regulations and curses is to break and humble the people’s souls. This is the very purpose of the Law, and it is the state of “holiness” towards which Leviticus aims. Given that God’s covenant with Jacob is recalled first (Lev 26:42), one can assume there to be a connection with the state obtained by Jacob. Finally, the paper argues in favor of a connection between the process of selftransformation that Jacob followed and the process that the Israelites are supposed to follow through the Sinai Covenant and the Law. In both cases, the inner self is dealt with from multiple directions after being brought into a covenant relationship with God. Each one’s self-centeredness is broken – Jacob’s through the hardships of life, and that of the Israelites through the Law. The broken soul born through this process is the very attribute that God desires. This is the purpose of the Law, and it overlaps with the attribute of “holiness.” | |||||
