| 内容記述 | 本稿は、国内ハンセン病療養所の記録保存と継承の意義について、外島保養院（現邑久光明園療養所）にあったキリスト教会の存在に着目し、人間の生命の尊厳という観点から考察を行った。特に療養所初期の自治会活動におけるキリスト者と教会の役割について背景を調査し、その中で阿部礼治、福田荒太郎、宣教師A・D・ヘールら人物と大阪伝道同志館（後の大阪神学院）、日本基督教会の関りと、療養所内外の相互作用を明らかにした。外島保養院の自治会活動については松岡弘之が、研究を行ったが、この報告では、キリスト教教会の視点より調べ、当時の教会の社会事業への関りを批判的に考察した。また、ハンセン病者伝道者の初期活動を明らかにした。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper examines the significance of preserving and passing on records of leprosy sanatoriums in Japan from the perspective of the sanctity of human life, focusing on the existence of the Christian Church at the Sotojima Sanatorium (now Oku Komyoen Sanatorium). In particular, we investigated the background of the role of Christians and churches in the activities of the sanatorium’s early residents’ association, and clarified the relationship between people such as Reiji Abe, Arataro Fukuda, and missionary A.D. Hale, Osaka Dendo Doshikan (later Osaka Theological Seminary), and the Japan Christian Association, and their interaction inside and outside the sanatorium. This report examines the activities of the local community association at the Sotojima Sanatorium from the perspective of the Christian church, and critically examines the church’s involvement in social programs at the time. He also clarified the early activities of the leprosy evangelists. | |||||
